Hamster Powered
Gizmodo shows off some awesome decals one can place around one’s house to make it appear that it’s being powered by hamsters…and such. Check out the gallery for three others.

This awesome poster was created by Olly Moss (who I’m now convinced is infallible and can do no wrong) for the podcast A Life Well Wasted. Olly has a habit of taking videogame visuals and making them all sorts of awesome. Check out some more of his work at his flickr page.

Sometimes XKCD is a nice collection of little stick figures saying humorous things, and sometimes the creator goes crazy and diagrams out the character interactions of several popular movies. Happy Thanksgiving all!
Pretty neat little/large infographic done by KoldKast showing different information pertaining to the release of various superhero movies. It’s a little visually chaotic, but definitely does a good job of presenting a lot of information as well as some interesting facts.
Next Day Flyers has blogged a neat collection of album art comprised mostly of typography. Examples include this awesome cover by Comunicom. (Speaking of which, Communicom has its own sweet collection of album art here.) Therein you’ll find some of the coolest album typography…and also some of the worst. It’s quite a mixed bag, but it’s worth sorting through the gravel to find the gems.
Got this passed on from a Mr. Stephen Carter. Pretty amazing sculptures. I was able to see one of these hyperrealistic pieces at the Denver Art Museum. I was afraid to go near it because I was positive it would start moving, and my reaction would be filmed for some hack artist’s YouTube video. If anyone wants to take that idea and run with it, be my guest.

Some neat work from Studio Lindfors depicting civilization after some sort of Apoca-flood. Check out their site for more work or this flickr page for the rest of the images.

Pixiome.fr has a great collection of 50 vintage identities/works. Tons of awesome letterpressed stationary and vintage webdesigns await.
I thought I had blogged about this a little while back, but a helpful search turned up nothing. So, for the two of you who missed it, here it is: the concept video for the Microsoft Courier. It feels weird to me to say that I really, really would like to have one of these. It’s more or less the perfect design gadget from the looks of it.
After the impressive shame that was the launch of the Microsoft Retail Store, it’s nice to see Microsoft come up with something that is well-designed, but has a unique flavor apart from Apple. If Apple’s rumored tablet is nothing more than a Kindle-sized iPhone, the Courier could give it a run for its money in my book. Let’s hope this thing escapes from the bowels of Microsoft unscathed. *crosses fingers*
Hit the jump for another, lesser-seen video that details how the UI will work a little more in-depth.

First off: how awesome is that picture? Next up: check out Typekit. Pretty rad. It apparently allows you add one line of code on your website and be able to choose from hundreds of fonts. Not sure how it works exactly, and haven’t tried it out myself. If you give it a shot and want to navigate back here and leave your experiment in the comments, please feel free to do so.
