It’s time once again for a break-neck tour around all the awesomeness Friday has to offer. Along for the ride is our usual companion: Vimeo. This weeks theme: videos involving paper in some way. Hit the jump for the rest of the videos.

Dead All Along A music video for Ceri Frost by Giles Timms. Done in After Effects using a pen-and-ink style. Interesting seeing something so tangible (paper cutouts) created in an intangible way.

Application Form Prototype Conversely (from Dead All Along) we see something generally intangible (a UI) recreated via something tangible (paper cutouts). Perhaps I’m just oblivious, but I’ve never seen prototypes done like this before, and it strikes be as taking longer than actually comping up one on the computer. Still neat though.

Stop-Mo Dojo An experimental animation by Jacob Rossi. He took control of the model on the left, and his buddy Keenan animated the one on the right. Only a couple seconds long, but surprisingly full of character.

Naomi House A film Simon Roberts made for a local charity. It incorporates paper models, projections, and paper cutouts (of which he created over 500 for the animated girl). Overall feels a bit slow and dry, perhaps it could have used a voice-over instead of type. However, it is still quite impressive and an obvious labor of love.

That’s it for this week folks. Have a good one.
