The always fantastic Smashing Mag has posted a great, quick overview of logo design and 10 Common Mistakes to Avoid when designing logos. For the most part it’s gospel for anyone who knows their stuff, but there’s some good bits of information tucked in there nonetheless.
I find, however, it acts as a darn good checklist for exposing joke “designers.”
