Redesigning Craig’s List
Neat post up on Smashing Mag about redesigning Craig’s List for usability. Quite an interesting read. Hit the jump for my thoughts and a revealing screenshot.
The article was definitely an interesting read for anyone easily entranced by such things. I think the usability arguments were engrossing, but I feel that the end redesign was not. The color palette went from hum-drum to all-out monotone (which made it look even more hum-drum in my opinion). Also, the redesign could make great use of a grid. Overall, interesting experiment in information architecture and usability, but I still find end aesthetic of the design to be rather lacking.

Dangit, Josiah! I got excited and thought this was the new designercize assignment….
