How do I know this photo of Nabau, a 100 ft.-long snake in Borneo is Photoshopped. Because, if it was real, I would have to leave the planet immediately.
No place is safe until someone slays that thing. Please, oh please, let that be photoshop.
Awesome. Apparently made by Jeff Matz of Lure Design for a screen printing demo. Although I have an issue with it. I don’t think Hobo is great by any means, but I have long considered Curlz to be the third member of the Type Axis of Evil along with Comic Sans and Papyrus. Maybe that sort of thing would be perfect for a new Designercize…
Welcome to the inaugural launch of Designercize. I’m hoping to turn this into a weekly/semi-weekly/once-in-a-blue-moon thing. The goal is to create something quick within a small set of restrictions. Read the rest of this entry »
http://www.survivetheoutbreak.com/ is a new site that houses The Outbreak from director/writer/editor/Renaissance man Chris Lund. Essentially a Choose Your Own Adventure movie revolving around an outbreak of Zombies done via film. You know how in every zombie story, someone ends up getting bitten/bled upon, and a fierce debate breaks out as to whether or not to off the person? That’s the very first decision you’re faced with in this story.
The site even appears to visually stitch together different “plot maps” so you can see where you’ve been and what roads you need to take to choose new adventures (where was THAT helpful options when madly flipping through the CYOA books?) It’s neat to see the medium of film and interactivity used in such a way. I’d love to see more stuff like this soon.
It’s no secret that I have a made gamecrush on DICE’s Mirror’s Edge. While the campaign is a bit shortish, and there is no multi mode (we BADLY need a cops/robbers-esque mode in the sequel), the concept, execution, and design of the game is just flat out awesome. Anyhow, the new DLC is out. Watch and drool.
For those you of unfamiliar with the game, check out this trailer for a better idea of the real deal. Jumping around giant floating shapes like some kind of free-running version of Sesame Street is definitely not par for the course.
from Dan Meth comes the awesome Trilogy Meter graphic. Simple, yet immediately easy to understand. This concept is cool and I want to use it…I’m just not sure how yet.
Saw this in a tweet from John Weiss. I started watching it and was very much not impressed. Then about midway through, after moments of silence, I got confused. THEN I realized my sound was muted. So, I started watching again, and was very much underwhelmed at what I believed to be some sort of motion type project. Then, things got interesting. Have a watch and see.
Photographer Carl Warner takes pictures of landscapes that are made out of food. They are awesome. I’d kinda like to live in that cheese house on the hill and work harvesting giant garlic cloves for the rest of my life.
Here’s his official site if you’d like to see more foodscapes. They’re pretty easy to find: just wait for the large flash site to resize your window and load > click on the second orange box entitled “fotographics” > look to the lower left > click on the second folder entitled “foodscapes” > continue viewing. -_- Some other cool pics after the jump Read the rest of this entry »
Hilarious new site up from someone working as a community manager for some kind of (presumably) social network/online game/etc. COPPA Kids is a simple Tumblr site consisting of the stressed appeals of kids who’ve suddenly realized that, thanks to COPPA, being under 13 has barred them from participation.
Here’s a helpful tip: if you’re trying to convince someone you’re over 13, you should probably learn to spell.
