I’ll Take Stupidity for $200

retropepsi You’ve just spent lots and lots of money totally redoing your whole brand. What are you going to do next? Revert right back to to the vintage style of course. Seriously, the clowns in charge of Pepsi marketing right now need to be put in stocks somewhere so we can throw tomatoes at them. I am curious to try Pepsi made with real sugar. I kinda wonder what it will taste like. Apparently Snapple is doing the same thing. But seriously here folks: what in the name of sugary sweetness is going on? Snapple is owned by a completely different company (Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc. < Not making that up) than Pepsi. If it was Pepsi/Coca-Cola I would think the cola wars were back on. But, two companies making the same move this close together? I’ve got to wonder if there was recently a spike in High Fructose Corn Syrup prices. Perhaps these new campaigns are just marketing tricks to cover up companies snatching up shiploads of suddenly-now-really-cheap sugar. Goodbye, HFCS, my tastebuds will miss you.

These are the scenarios I imagine when I’m bored and thinking about the soft drink industry.
